Sherpur: A youth was killed in a lightning strike in the Mozakanda area of Palashkandi village under Nakla upazila of the district this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was Md. Sujan Mia, 20, son of Faizal Mia, a resident of the same area. Lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Sujan around 7 am when he was working in his farmland. He died on the spot, said Habibur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakla Police Station.
