Dhaka: The government today announced that it will bestow state honours on two teachers from Milestone School and College who tragically lost their lives in the recent jet crash in Uttara.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision was made during a meeting of the Council of Advisers, presided over by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the Chief Adviser's Office. The Press Wing of the Chief Adviser issued a statement confirming that details regarding the presentation of the state honours will be disclosed soon.
The meeting commenced with a condolence motion for the victims of the plane crash, specifically recognizing the contributions of the two educators from Milestone School and College. A moment of silence was observed, and prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the deceased.
In addition, the council pledged full government support to the families affected by the calamity. The Ministry of Education has been tasked with collaborating with the school authorities to decide on the necessary actions moving forward.
The council also resolved that special prayers will be conducted in all religious institutions tomorrow, petitioning for the forgiveness of the deceased and the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
