Lama: All tourist spots and resorts in Lama upazila of Bandarban hill district have been reopened after a seven-day closure. The announcement was made in a notice signed by Lama Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Moin Uddin.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tourist spots and resorts were initially closed on July 10 following a decision by the Upazila Disaster Management Committee. This measure was taken due to potential risks of natural disasters and landslides in the region.
As the weather conditions in Lama upazila have returned to normal, a new decision by the Upazila Disaster Prevention Committee has allowed for the reopening of all tourist spots and resorts from today. Md. Moin Uddin stated that the adverse weather conditions and fears of landslides led to the initial closure on July 10. With the situation now stable, the tourist centres and resorts are set to welcome visitors once again.
