Dhaka: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today confirmed seven new Covid-19 infections in the country over a 24-hour period from 8 am Monday to 8 am Tuesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 235 samples were tested during this time, yielding a positivity rate of 2.98 percent, as stated in a report by the DGHS.
The report also noted that no deaths were recorded from COVID-19 during this period. The cumulative death toll since the pandemic began in 2020 remains at 29,526.
The first case of coronavirus in the country was detected on March 8, 2020. Following this, the first death from the virus occurred ten days later, on March 18 of the same year.
