Dhaka: Sangskritik Sangsad of Dhaka University (DU) today organized ‘Ashar Parbon-1432’ to welcome the monsoon season at TSC of the university. Education Adviser Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar was present at the festival as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, marking the event, a cultural function and a day-long entrepreneur fair were held. DU Treasurer Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury inaugurated the function. Dr. CR Abrar remarked on the current turbulent times both nationally and internationally, emphasizing the need for a healthy society through strengthened cultural activities.
He expressed hope that the cultural practices of the new generation would see an increase through this festival. Eminent cultural personalities Tariq Anam Khan and Munmun Ahmed attended the event as special guests, with Sangskritik Sangsad moderator and Anthropology Department Associate Professor Dr. Rasheda Rownak Khan presiding.
Sangsad adviser Associate Professor Tanvir Nahid Khan, its president Nafia Farzana Amiya, and general secretary Rownak Jahan Rakamoni, among others, were also present at the event. Earlier, at the beginning of the program, attendees observed a one-minute silence in memory of the July Uprising martyrs.
