Bagerhat: Health Services Division Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman today emphasized the crucial role of emergency departments in hospitals, highlighting their importance in providing primary treatment to patients. 'Doctors and nurses will always have to be prepared in the department. This is very challenging for the health department. We appeal to everyone to be sincere to ensure this service,' he stated while addressing a view-sharing meeting focused on community involvement in health services at the Bagerhat 250-bed District Hospital premises.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md. Saidur Rahman announced that Bagerhat Sadar Hospital will soon receive MRI and CT scan machines. He assured that if adequate medical staff are available, the hospital's ICU services will resume. He also addressed the current shortage of doctors, promising that it will be rectified.
The meeting was presided over by Khulna Health Department Director Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman and included speeches from notable figures such as Health Department Director General Professor Dr. Md. Abu Jafar and former secretary Dr. Md. Mashiur Rahman, among others.
Prior to the meeting, Health Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman inspected the hospital facilities and inaugurated a new operation complex. Later, he visited the Latif Master Foundation's free medical service camp in Beshargati and a private clinic in the district town.
