Narail: National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today announced the formation of a new political party, citing a lack of trust in existing political parties’ ability to rebuild the country. Addressing a street rally in the Mukta Mancha area, Nahid emphasized the need for a new political force to lead the nation towards prosperity.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid stated that the formation of the NCP was driven by the failure of current political entities to support the nation’s reconstruction following a mass uprising. He criticized these parties for focusing on power and seat sharing instead of acknowledging the true purpose of the uprising, which he described as a call for national reconstruction and the formation of a prosperous Bangladesh.

The NCP is actively engaged in a nationwide July March program, which began on July 1 and will continue until July 29, demanding justice, reforms, and a new constitution. Nahid urged citizens to place their trust in the NCP, promising to work for the rights of the people and envisioning a future Bangladesh free from dictatorship, corruption, and where basic rights such as freedom of speech, food, and clothing are guaranteed.

Highlighting the lack of respect for those who suffered during the uprising, Nahid expressed disappointment that the expected changes had not materialized even a year after the events. He reaffirmed the NCP’s commitment to realizing the dream of a powerful and equitable Bangladesh and called on the public to support their cause.

Other speakers at the rally included NCP Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam and Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah.
