Dhaka: In the ongoing nationwide anti-crime crackdown, 2955 more crime suspects were apprehended and five firearms and huge ammunition were seized in the last 48 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the press release from the Police Headquarters detailed that 2021 of the individuals were captured in connection with previous cases and pending warrants, while the remaining 934 were arrested on various criminal charges.
During these operations, law enforcement successfully seized two single-barrel guns, three foreign pistols, and a notable quantity of ammunition, including 3134 rounds of bullets of different kinds. Additionally, one magazine and several sharp weapons were confiscated, highlighting the breadth of the crackdown and the authorities' commitment to curbing crime.
The operation is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety and security by targeting individuals involved in criminal activities and reducing the availability of illegal firearms and ammunition.
