Dhaka: Water levels at 29 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked a rise, while 85 stations have recorded a fall. Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at five stations have remained steady, and no stations are currently flowing above the danger level, as per a bulletin issued by the FFWC.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the water level of the Teesta River is rising and is expected to continue this trend for the next 24 hours, potentially decreasing over the following two days. Within the next 24 hours, the water level of the Teesta River may approach the warning level in the Nilphamari, Rangpur, and Lalmonirhat districts.
The water level of the Surma River remains steady, while the Kushiyara River's water level is rising, though both are still below the danger level. Over the next 24 hours, the Surma River's level may remain stable, whereas the Kushiyara River's level may continue to rise. In the Sylhet district, both the Surma and Kushiyara Rivers may rise and approach the warning level.
The Brahmaputra River's water level remains stable, while the Jamuna River's level is decreasing, a trend that may continue for two days before rising over the subsequent three days. Meanwhile, the Ganges River's water level remains stable and is likely to rise over the next four days. Conversely, the Padma River's water level is decreasing and is expected to continue for the next two days before stabilizing over the following three days. During this period, these rivers are anticipated to flow below the danger level.
In the Chattogram division, the Sangu and Matamuhuri rivers' water levels are rising, whereas the Halda River's level is decreasing, with all remaining below the danger level.
