Bogura: National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Md Nahid Islam today stated that the July declaration must be incorporated in the constitution. He emphasized that July is not merely an emotional matter but represents the party’s political manifesto and destination. He asserted that the future of Bangladesh will be shaped by the principles outlined in the July declaration, and those who resist its inclusion in the constitution are acting as the new guardians of Mujibism.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid made these comments during a street rally at Mukta Mancha at Sat Matha intersection in the district town, part of the party’s July street march program. He highlighted the mass uprising aimed at protesting political discrimination and expressed the NCP’s commitment to securing all civic amenities for the people of Bogura.
Nahid called for the establishment of an independent judiciary, police, and administration following the 2024 mass uprising. He warned that any attempt to revert to the old political structure would face consequences similar to those experienced by the Mujibist supporters.
Nahid advocated for the creation of a new Bangladesh, emphasizing the need for political change and the involvement of youth in taking charge of the country’s future. He declared that the NCP seeks to establish a democratic and discrimination-free Bangladesh, presenting itself as the long-awaited alternative political force for the past 54 years.
