Dhaka: Education Ministry Adviser Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar emphasized the importance of delivering error-free textbooks to students at the beginning of each academic year. Speaking as the chief guest at a four-day workshop at the Abdul Jabbar Auditorium, NCTB building in Motijheel, Prof. Abrar urged the relevant authorities, especially the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), to ensure the accuracy and flawlessness of textbooks.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop, organized by the NCTB, commenced on June 30 and is set to continue until July 3. NCTB Chairman Prof. Robiul Kabir Chowdhury reiterated the board's commitment to providing quality, error-free, and timely textbooks to students. He mentioned that the draft textbooks for the 2026 academic year were reviewed at the National Curriculum Coordination Committee meeting on May 29.
The workshop saw participation from more than 40 experienced teachers nationwide, focusing on identifying and correcting errors in textbooks for secondary students from sixth to ninth grade. Recommendations were made to ensure that textbooks are free from discriminatory or sensitive content, including issues related to race, religion, caste, minority ethnic groups, gender, and profession.
