Dhaka: The government today declared July 16 as 'July Martyrs Day'. A Cabinet Division in a gazette notification asked all concerned ministries, departments, and organizations to observe the day as 'July Martyrs Day'.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the government decided to include this date as a 'Kha' category day in a list of special dates with national and international relevance. The same notification scrapped an earlier Cabinet Division circular relating to the observance of the day.
