Yangon: Defying the rain, the Bangladesh national women’s football team completed their third training session at training field-5 in Yangon, Myanmar ahead of the FC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers. The players maintained strong focus and energy throughout the session. All players are in good health and adapting well to the environment. The team continues to prepare with determination and unity as they look forward to their first match on June 29 against Bahrain.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, team assistant goalkeeper coach Masud Ahmed emphasized the importance of tactics and technique during the training sessions. He also mentioned that work is being done on addressing the weaknesses of the custodians. “In fact, I am trying to prepare the goalkeepers for the level of performance that is required on the Asian stage and we hope we’ll return home with a good result from Myanmar,” he stated.
Custodian Swarna Rani Mondal expressed that the team is following the preparation plan as instructed by the team coach. She is hopeful for a strong start in their first match against Bahrain and remains optimistic about returning home with favorable results.
Bangladesh, placed in group C alongside Bahrain, Turkmenistan, and host Myanmar, will commence their tournament campaign against Bahrain on June 29. The girls in red and green will face host Myanmar and Turkmenistan on July 2 and July 5, respectively. All matches are scheduled to be held at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
