Narsingdi: As part of agricultural rehabilitation assistance under the 2024-25 fiscal year, free seeds and fertilizers were distributed to marginal farmers to enhance the cultivation and production of transplanted Aman paddy during the Kharif-2 season in Belabo upazila of the district. The distribution ceremony took place on Thursday afternoon at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) office. It was jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of Belabo.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 1,050 farmers benefited from the program, each receiving 5 kilograms of Aman paddy seeds, 10 kilograms of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kilograms of Muriate of Potash (MoP). These inputs are expected to significantly contribute to the agricultural productivity in the region.
The event was presided over by Upazila Agriculture Officer Muhibur Rahman Siddique, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Abdul Karim attended as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Al Amin Haldar, Agricultural Extension Officer Md Mahbub Alam Lelin, and Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers Md Jamal Uddin and Manik Saha.
