Govt Approves Tk 10,006.63 Crore Fuel Oil Procurement for 2025

Dhaka: The government has approved a proposal to procure refined fuel oil from state-owned enterprises of several countries under a government-to-government (G2G) arrangement for the latter half of 2025, with the total cost pegged at approximately Taka 10,006.63 crore. This decision was made during the 24th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) held at the Bangladesh Secretariat, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presiding.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division’s proposal outlined the procurement of refined fuel oil from PTTT in Thailand; ENOC in the United Arab Emirates; PetroChina Co Ltd (PetroChina) in China; BSP in Indonesia; PTLCL in Malaysia; UNIPEC in China; and IOCL in India. This initiative aims to ensure a stable supply of fuel oil for the country’s needs during the specified period.



Furthermore, in response to another proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resource Division, an additional procurement plan was approved. This involves acquiring 25,000 metric tons of Gasoline 95 Unleaded Octane from PT Bumi Siak Pusako Zapin (BSP) in Indonesia, at an estimated cost of around Taka 208.63 crore.
