Dhaka: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will commence simultaneously across the country on June 26, Thursday. This year, a total of 12,51,111 candidates will participate in this public examination.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 618,015 male and 633,096 female candidates will appear for the exams under 11 education boards. Out of the total, 10,55,398 candidates are registered under the General Education Board, 86,102 under the Madrasa Education Board (Alim), and 109,611 under the Technical Education Board. The examinations will be held across 2,797 centers nationwide, with 293 candidates taking the exam at 8 centers abroad.

In preparation for the exams, the Ministry of Education has mandated the closure of all coaching centers across the country until August 15. Violators of this directive will face legal action. Additionally, the use of electronic devices, including mobile phones, is strictly prohibited within 200 yards of the examination centers for teachers, students, and employees.

A recent meeting chaired by Education Adviser Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar resulted in several measures to ensure a fair and cheating-free examination process. These include strict legal actions against those spreading rumors about question leaks. The Bangladesh Army will assist law enforcement agencies during the examination period to maintain order.

Candidates are required to enter the examination centers at least 30 minutes before the exam begins. Any late entries will be documented, and the respective board will be notified. In cases where exams start late due to natural disasters or unavoidable circumstances, additional time will be allocated to the candidates.

The Ministry of Education is optimistic that with the concerted efforts of the government, coordination with relevant agencies, and cooperation from parents and students, the 2025 HSC and equivalent exams will be conducted smoothly and peacefully. Professor Dr. Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, emphasized the commitment to a fair examination process and warned against spreading false information regarding question paper leaks on social media.
