Noakhali: Education Adviser Prof Dr C R Abrar has expressed concern over the destruction of Bangladesh’s education system over the past 17 years. ‘It’s not possible to measure the losses of the education sector and days after days will be passed to calculate the losses,’ he remarked.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the adviser addressed these issues while speaking as the chief guest at a ‘Research Fair’ organized by the Noakhali University of Science and Technology (NUST). He highlighted the challenges faced due to the limited time under their charge and emphasized efforts to make improvements based on past experiences.
Prof Dr Abrar stressed the importance of separating political beliefs from educational institutions, stating, ‘Teachers might have political beliefs, but he/she should keep in their minds,’ and advised that politics should be kept out of the teaching profession.
The event was chaired by NUST Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail, with other distinguished guests including Prof Dr Haider Ali of Cumilla University, Prof Hossain Uddin Shekhar of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NUST Prof Dr Mohammad Rezwanul Haque, and Treasurer Prof Dr Mohammad Hanif in attendance.
The education adviser inaugurated the fair by releasing balloons and pigeons and later inspected various stalls. Awards were distributed among students and teachers for academic excellence and contributions to research activities.
