Bogura: Three motorcyclists were killed in a road accident near the fire service station on the Bogura-Naogaon highway at Adamdighi upazila of the district this afternoon. The deceased have been identified as Shafiqul Islam Rinkon, 21, of Dakshin Sathalia village in Saghata upazila of Gaibandha and Mushfiqur Rahman of Gokul Uttarpara in Bogura Sadar upazila. The third victim was initially identified only as Ashrafuzzaman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police and local sources reported that the victims were traveling towards Bogura on a motorcycle bearing registration number Dhaka Metro-L-50-4176. They were struck head-on by a Naogaon-bound truck, which carried the registration number Dhaka Metro-T-22-9019, resulting in their immediate deaths.
Members of the Adamdighi Fire Service arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies. Adamdighi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating, “The truck involved in the collision has been seized. However, the driver and his assistant managed to flee the scene. We are conducting an investigation and legal proceedings are underway.”
