Chattogram: The port city has reported six more Covid-19 cases out of 129 tests conducted in the last 24 hours in the district. With these new cases, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Chattogram has reached 50 in the past 12 days, according to Dr. Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Jahangir Alam highlighted that Coronavirus tests are currently being conducted in six different laboratories, including the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) RT-PCR lab. Currently, 37 infected patients are receiving treatment at various designated hospitals in the city.
Out of the total 50 Coronavirus cases, 43 are residents of the port city, while the remaining seven are from different upazilas. So far, one person has succumbed to the virus in the Chattogram district.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that the Health Department is prepared to prevent further spread of the infection. He urged people from all segments of society to avoid crowds and to wear masks to curb the spread of the virus.
