Dhaka: A total of 1,48,227 cases have been resolved across the country through alternative dispute resolutions (ADR) under the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO), official sources said here today. The cases were settled through the ADR system from 2009 to April 2025, based on the information available on the organization’s website.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the service was initially launched at the district level in 2009 and was later expanded to include the Supreme Court, as well as Dhaka and Chattogram divisional headquarters. The service was further extended to all the prisons in the country and is also accessible via a toll-free number provided by NLASO. ADR is a system for settling cases outside the court, benefiting both parties involved.

Out of these, 1,46,314 cases were settled through 64 District Legal Aid Officers, while 1,913 cases were resolved through the Labourers Assistance Cell in Dhaka and Chattogram, directly benefiting 2,83,405 individuals.

These services were provided through 64 District Legal Aid Offices, the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, the Labourers Assistance Cell in Dhaka and Chattogram, and the toll-free call center’s number 16430.
