Dhaka: LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has expressed gratitude towards cleaning workers, acknowledging their tireless efforts in making this Eid-ul-Azha joyful. "Eid means sacrifice, so we are keeping the city clean for the people by sacrificing the joy of Eid. Eid was joyful due to the tireless work of the sanitation workers, thank you," Asif stated in a Facebook post.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Asif highlighted the achievement of 100% waste removal in 487 wards across 12 city corporations, attributing this success to collective planning, hard work, and dedication. He emphasized that this accomplishment is not merely a statistic but a testament to their commitment, transforming cleanliness from a promise into a reality.
Asif noted that Dhaka was cleaned in less than 12 hours on Eid-ul-Azha. He pointed out that animal sacrifices occurred over three consecutive days, including Eid day, and the combined efforts of city dwellers and sanitation workers were crucial in waste management and maintaining the city's cleanliness.
He further elaborated that a clean city is not only a goal but a daily responsibility. Asif extended love and gratitude to all colleagues for their dedication in fulfilling this obligation.
