Dhaka: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed satisfaction over the announcement of the election roadmap by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus in his address to the nation this evening. The announcement detailed that the next general election will be held on any day in the first half of April 2026.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated that the nation is reassured by the Chief Adviser’s announcement. He expressed hope that the necessary steps will be taken to ensure a free, fair, impartial, and acceptable election within the announced timeframe.
Dr. Rahman emphasized that the interim government has the potential to steer Bangladesh back to a fair democratic path. He highlighted the nation’s strong desire for reform, justice, and elections, and referred to the importance of formulating and implementing the ‘July Charter’ as a guiding framework for achieving these goals.
