Dhaka: A fire that broke out in a multi-storey building in the capital’s Purana Paltan area this morning was brought under control around half an hour.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fire originated on the 6th floor of the 10-storey building at 50 Purana Paltan around 6:55 in the morning, fire service sources said.
Five fire engines from Siddiqbazar Fire Station rushed to the place of occurrence and doused the flame at 7:18am today.
There was no report of casualties and the cause behind the fire and the extent of damage could not be known immediately, the sources said.
