Sylhet: The online General Diary (GD) service was launched today in all police stations under the Sylhet Range, aiming to make police services more accessible and faster for the people. "Bangladesh Police has introduced the option to file all types of GD online from home as part of its service simplification efforts under the directive of the Chief Adviser," said a press release issued by the Police Headquarters.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the service is currently available in Sylhet Metropolitan Police, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, and all police stations in the Chittagong Range, as stated in the release. Previously, only GDs related to loss or receipt could be filed online. With today's launch, the service is now accessible in all police stations across the Sylhet Range.

The rollout of this initiative will continue as it is set to expand to other ranges and metropolitan areas in phases. To utilize this service, users are required to download the 'Online GD' app from the Google Play Store and complete a one-time registration process.

For individuals encountering difficulties in registering or filing an online GD, assistance is available through a dedicated hotline at 01320001428.
