147 Dengue Patients Hospitalized in 24 Hours

Dhaka: A total of 147 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Barishal division recorded the highest number of new cases with 89 patients. Chattogram reported 20 cases, while Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) accounted for 13 cases. Additionally, Dhaka division reported 10 cases, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) had three cases, Rajshahi reported nine cases, Khulna had two cases, and Rangpur reported one case.



During the same period, 97 patients were discharged after receiving treatment.



With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases reported this year has reached 4,492. So far, 23 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease in 2025. Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the DGHS statement added.
