21 Dengue Patients Hospitalized Nationwide in 24 Hours

Dhaka: A total of 21 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till this morning. The admissions highlight the ongoing struggle with the mosquito-borne viral disease.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, 10 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, three in Chattogram, three in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and five patients were admitted to various hospitals in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), as per a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).



The total number of dengue cases has climbed to 4,323 this year, with 23 deaths reported so far. The press release also noted that during the same 24-hour period, 21 patients were discharged from hospitals across the country after receiving treatment.



In comparison, last year the total number of dengue cases surged to 1,01,214, with 575 fatalities reported, underscoring the severity of the outbreak in the previous year.
