Two-Day Science and Tech Fair Begins in Rangpur

Rangpur: The two-day upazila-level Science and Technology Week and Science Fair-2025 commenced here on Monday with a focus on supporting young students in becoming future scientists.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the district administration organized the event under the guidance of the National Science and Technology Museum and with the support of the Science and Technology Ministry to mark the 46th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair. Students from 18 secondary-level educational institutions across the district have set up stalls showcasing a range of scientific projects, research activities, innovations, and ICT-based technologies.



The fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, who served as the chief guest during the opening ceremony held at the Rangpur Zilla School grounds. The event saw the participation of officials from the district administration, various departments, teachers, students, and well-wishers from numerous educational institutions.



The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical role science and technology fairs play in enhancing students’ knowledge and creativity in today’s information technology era. He stated that such events allow students to express their innovative ideas and work, and if encouraged and evaluated properly, they have the potential to become leading scientists in the country.



He expressed hope that the fair would spark greater interest in science among students and contribute significantly to future development. He urged students to persist in their scientific pursuits alongside their academic studies.



The Deputy Commissioner also noted his satisfaction with the keen interest shown by the young participants in science and technology-based modern education and technical innovation at the fair.



At the event, secondary and higher secondary students from eight upazilas of Rangpur district took part in senior and junior groups, displaying a variety of innovative projects. These included eco-friendly technology, robotics, renewable energy, disaster management systems, innovative traffic management, and artificial intelligence-related innovations.
