Three-Day Land Fair Commences in Chattogram with Focus on Tax Compliance

Chattogram: A three-day land fair began today on the premises of the Chattogram Circuit House with the theme: “Pay land development tax regularly: protect your land.” Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanom presided over the inaugural ceremony, while Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md Ziauddin attended the event as the chief guest.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Ziauddin highlighted the recent progress, reforms, and achievements of the Ministry of Land, noting that these developments have garnered attention from people across various walks of life. He stated that the government is committed to making land services completely harassment-free and citizen-friendly by 2028.



Six land circles under Chattogram Metropolitan City have set up individual stalls at the fair to provide on-the-spot land-related services and information to attendees. Earlier in the day, a colourful rally was organized, starting from the Circuit House premises and parading through key city streets before returning to the starting point.



The event also featured an awareness programme aimed at disseminating information about existing land services to beneficiaries. Chattogram Range DIG Md Ahsan Habib, Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Nurullah Nuri, Superintendent of Police Md Saiful Islam Santu, and Local Government Director Monowara Begum addressed the event as special guests.



The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, journalists, students, and professionals from various fields. Following the inaugural session, the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, along with other guests, visited the various stalls at the fair.
