Dhaka: The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have appointed Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam as the new chairman of the Mathematics Department. An office order signed by JU acting Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman confirmed the appointment today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam will assume the role from June 1 for a term of 36 months, as stipulated by section 9 (1) of the Jahangirnagar University Act 1973. Prof Nazrul Islam is set to replace the outgoing chairman of the department, Prof Dr. Jasmin Akhter.
