Benapole: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized various Indian smuggled goods valued at approximately Taka 2.47 crore from different points along the borders in the Benapole and Hijli areas.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BGB teams acted on tips-off and conducted raids at multiple border locations. The seized items include liquor, phensedyl, sarees, three-piece suits, torchlights, tobacco, blankets, transmitter equipment, fire equipment, fishing nets, cigarettes, chocolates, medicines, and cosmetics, as reported by BGB 49 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddique.
Despite the successful seizure, no arrests have been made in connection with these operations, Lieutenant Colonel Siddique added.
