Government Focuses on Rights and Welfare of Deprived Women, Says Sharmeen S Murshid

Dhaka: Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid today announced that the government is actively working to secure the rights and welfare of deprived women in society. She emphasized the importance of sincerity among all officials and employees within the social welfare department in achieving this goal. Murshid made these remarks while exchanging views with social welfare department officials and local dignitaries at an event held at the Circuit House, where she served as the chief guest.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Amin and attended by notable figures including Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare Dr Md Mahiuddin, Superintendent of Police Dr Farhad Hossain, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rifat Asma, Deputy Director of the District Social Welfare Department Md Omar Faruque, Family Welfare Officer Dr Baby Tripura, and women leader Nirupama Dewan.



Murshid highlighted the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that women in hilly areas receive the same rights and facilities as those in other districts across the country. She urged relevant officials and staff to expedite the activities of the social welfare and cooperative departments in these regions, indicating a focused effort to bridge the gap in services and opportunities for women living in challenging terrains.
