Rajshahi: Speakers at a view-sharing meeting in Rajshahi unequivocally called for strengthening the existing services of maternal and infant care for the greater interest of attaining trust and confidence of the public in general in this field. Terming the role of field-level workers as very vital in this context, they urged the family planning personnel to render their services with utmost sincerity and honesty so that people, particularly the remotest and hard-to-reach ones, can derive total benefits of their services.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Rajshahi divisional office of the Department of Family Planning (DFP) organized the daylong meeting on 'Management Information System (MIS)' at its office conference hall on Monday. The meeting, chaired by DFP Divisional Director Dr. Kustary Amina Queen, was addressed by several key figures, including MIS Director Abdur Razzaque, Lime Director Khandaker Shafiqul Islam, and Assistant Director Shahidul Islam.
DFP Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors from all eight districts in the division joined the meeting to discuss and devise strategies to enhance the success of their respective initiatives. The meeting highlighted the various reproductive healthcare services provided by the DFP, such as maternal, antenatal, delivery, postnatal, neonatal, menstrual regulation, post-operative, maternal nutrition, and adolescent reproductive care, available throughout the country.
In her remarks, Dr. Kustary Amina Queen mentioned that the DFP has been implementing MIS activities in many upazilas, while e-MIS is being introduced in others. She also noted that steps have been taken to launch e-MIS activities in all upazilas.
MIS Director Abdur Razzaque emphasized the importance of MIS in providing data and reports on family planning program performance and service delivery, which enables effective monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making. The mission is to improve the quality and availability of family planning services, contributing to health, population, and nutrition outcomes. The vision is to ensure quality and accessible health education and affordable family planning services for all.
