Tangail: A schoolboy was killed in a road accident in the Kulia Jamalpur Mosque Road area under Ghatail upazila of the district this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased, Al Amin, 6, son of the late Mahmud Ali, was a resident of Khilpara village in the upazila. He was a class one student at Birahimpur Government Primary School.
The accident occurred around 11:30 am when a battery-run auto-rickshaw hit the boy from behind while he was crossing the road.
Critically injured, Al Amin was taken to Ghatail Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Ghatail Police Station Md. Rakibul Islam confirmed the incident, saying the body was handed over to his family.
