Kishoreganj: Three persons including two brothers were killed in a fatal road accident in the Chowddhashata area on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab highway today. The deceased were identified as Abu Taher, 65, his brother Abul Kashem, 61, and Nur Islam, 70, all hailing from Abdullahpur village of Kuliarchar upazila in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a pick-up van collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind in the Chowddhashata area. This collision resulted in critical injuries to three passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
Locals promptly rescued the injured individuals and transported them to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, Abu Taher succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Abul Kashem later succumbed to his injuries en route to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, while Nur Islam died while being transported to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
