Dhaka: Due to digitization, 30 percent more land development tax has been collected this year compared to the previous year, said Senior Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed. He disclosed the information during a preparatory meeting for observing Land Service Week-2025 at the meeting room of the Land Ministry today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ahmed emphasized the importance of determining and collecting land development tax as the fundamental task of land management. He noted that while determining land development tax (rent) is crucial, it is often a tedious process.
Other senior officials concerned were present at the meeting, reflecting the collaborative effort being made to enhance land management services and tax collection through digitization.
