Dhaka: The fire that erupted in the basement of the ten-story Capital Siraj Center on Bailey Road in the capital around 6:45 pm today has been successfully controlled.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, nine firefighting units from the fire service managed to extinguish the flames by 8:38 pm tonight. The operation was crucial in preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
Fire service sources confirmed that a total of 18 individuals were rescued from the building. The rescued included seven men, nine women, and two children. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported following the incident.
The swift response by the fire service ensured the safety of the occupants and minimized potential damage to the building. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are likely to follow to ascertain the source and prevent future occurrences.
