Cumilla: Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) today conducted a drive in different petrol pumps of the district and sealed two of them for giving less oil to the customers. The BSTI team, led by its Deputy Director (DD) Cumilla zone K M Hanif, conducted the surveillance drive in various petrol pumps in Cumilla city and Chauddagram upazila from 10 am to 4 pm.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during its drive, the team discovered that a petrol pump named M/S Sharif Enterprise was dispensing 190 milliliters and 200 milliliters less oil to customers per 10-litre order through two of its dispensers. Consequently, the BSTI ordered the suspension of its four units.

Additionally, the team found that another petrol pump, M/S M A Hakim and Brothers at Gadhir Pukurpar in the town, was giving 340 milliliters and 390 milliliters less fuel per 10-litre order through its two diesel dispensing units. In an on-spot decision, the BSTI sealed both units of the pump.
