Bogura: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) successfully rescued an abducted rural physician, Md. Tariqul Islam, from the Nishindara area under Sadar Police Station in Bogura district on Monday. The physician was originally from Bhatgram village under Sadullapur Police Station in Gaibandha district, according to a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tariqul Islam was abducted from his village, Bhatgram, around 4:40 pm on May 2, reportedly due to a financial dispute. Following the abduction, his younger brother promptly filed a kidnapping case with the Sadullapur Police Station.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising members from Crime Prevention Company-3 of RAB-13’s Gaibandha Camp and RAB-12’s Bogura Camp conducted the rescue operation. They successfully located and freed the victim at approximately 3:25 pm on Monday.
The rescued physician was subsequently handed over to the Sadullapur police station for further proceedings, as stated in the press release.
