Three Fugitive Convicts Captured in Rangpur and Gaibandha

Rangpur: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 successfully apprehended three fugitives who had been sentenced to one-year imprisonment each, during separate operations across Rangpur and Gaibandha districts on Monday.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the individuals arrested were Bakul Mia, aged 40, from Nelokchondi village in Gangachara upazila, Matiar Rahman, aged 45, from Lahirirhat village in Sadar upazila, both in Rangpur, and Abdul Jalil, aged 45, from Islampur in Sadar upazila of Gaibandha district. These arrests were confirmed in a press release issued by the RAB.



The courts in Rangpur and Gaibandha had previously sentenced Bakul Mia, Matiar Rahman, and Abdul Jalil to one-year prison terms in 2021 and 2022. These sentences were delivered in absentia following separate criminal case trials. The arrested individuals have now been transferred to the relevant police stations in Rangpur and Gaibandha for further legal action.
