Dhaka: A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a truck in the Shahpur-Ghighati area under Kaliganj upazila this morning. The incident took place on the Kaliganj-Kotchandpur road, where the truck and motorcycle collided head-on.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victim was identified as Jahangir Hossain, 55, son of Abdul Jalil, who resided in Natima village in Maheshpur upazila. The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 am when the truck, traveling in the opposite direction, struck Jahangir's motorcycle, resulting in his immediate death.
Shahidul Islam Howlader, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station, confirmed that Jahangir died on the spot following the collision. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the area, drawing attention to traffic management and vehicular regulation.
