Dhaka: The Namaz-e-Janaza of senior lawyer Barrister Abdur Razzaq was held today at the inner garden of the Supreme Court (SC). The solemn event saw the participation of numerous prominent figures from the legal community and beyond.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Barrister Razzaq’s eldest son, Barrister Ehsan Abdullah Siddiqui, led the Janaza prayers at 11 am. Prior to the prayers, the younger son, Imran Abdullah Siddiqui, requested attendees to offer prayers for their late father.
The ceremony was attended by Supreme Court Appellate and High Court Division Judges, Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam, and Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon. Also present were Nationalist Lawyers Forum President and Bar Council Vice-Chairman Senior Advocate Zainul Abedin, former Speaker Barrister Zamiruddin Sarker, Nationalist Lawyers Forum Secretary General Barrister Kaiser Kamal, and Bangladesh Bar Council Executive Committee Chairman Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus Kajal.
In addition, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal, Jamaat’s Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, its Chittagong Metropolitan Ameer Shahjahan Chowdhury, and AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju were in attendance. A large gathering of Supreme Court lawyers, family members, and individuals from various backgrounds joined in the Janaza to pay their respects to Barrister Abdur Razzaq.
Following the Janaza, the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Attorney General’s Office paid tribute to Barrister Abdur Razzaq by placing floral wreaths on his coffin, honoring his contributions to the legal field and his legacy.
