Dhaka: A total of 49 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, 17 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 18 in Chattogram, three in Dhaka division, five in Dhaka North, two in Dhaka South, one each in Mymensingh and Sylhet division, and two were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna division, as stated in a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of dengue cases in the country has now risen to 2,756, with 20 deaths reported this year from the mosquito-borne disease. In the last 24 hours, a total of 52 dengue patients were released from hospitals.
The statement further indicated that last year, the total number of dengue cases escalated to 101,214, with 575 deaths reported from the disease.
