Dhaka: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two accused abductors and rescued the kidnapped teenage girl of Lalmonirhat from Ashulia police station area of Dhaka district on Saturday evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested abductors are Md. Shimul Hasan, 21, and Md. Abu Sayeed, 38, both residents of Uttara Chathira Hazari (Chaparhat) village under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat district, as stated in a press release issued recently.
Earlier, the main accused Md. Midul Hasan and his accomplices forcibly kidnapped the girl from Kaliganj upazila town under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat after finding her alone at 9:30 am on March 26. Following this incident, the victim’s father filed a kidnapping case with the Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat on April 28.
A joint operational team of RAB-13 from Rangpur and Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of RAB-4 in Dhaka conducted a raid and arrested the two accused in the case from the Jirani area under Ashulia police station of Dhaka district at 6:10 pm on Saturday. The elite force subsequently handed over the arrested individuals along with the victim to Kaliganj police station in Lalmonirhat, as mentioned in the release.
