Ice Cream Factory Fined for Unhygienic Practices in Chandpur

Chandpur: An ice cream factory in the district was fined Taka 20,000 during a drive for producing ice-cream in dirty and unhygienic conditions, using another company’s packaging, and mixing harmful colors.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department’s district office, Abdullah Al Imran, led the operation in the Biponibag Mominpara area. The factory, named Freshco Ice Cream, was found to be engaging in practices that violated health and safety regulations. During the inspection, harmful chemical substances were discovered and subsequently destroyed on-site.



Freshco Ice Cream has pledged to refrain from such irregularities in the future, as stated by Abdullah Al Imran. He emphasized that the operation’s objective was to safeguard public health and that similar actions would continue to be conducted in the public interest.
