Dhaka: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain announced the government's decision to translate 'Fatawa-e-Darul Uloom Deoband', a collection of Islamic legal opinions, into Bengali at a seminar held at the Islamic Foundation auditorium in Agargaon. The translation is planned to encompass 27 volumes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Khalid emphasized the importance of ensuring accuracy and timeliness over a literal translation due to the sensitive nature of the work. He expressed hope that the Bengali translation would serve as a significant guideline for devout Muslims in the country.
The seminar was presided over by Islamic Foundation Director General A. S. Salam Khan. Special guests included Governors of the IF Board, Alhaj Maulana Md Nesarul Haque, Syed Mohammad Mosaddek Billah Al Madani, and Maulana Mahfuzul Haque, who also addressed the audience.
