Natore: The legal aid office in Natore district resolved 253 disputes through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) over the past year. Officials shared this information at a discussion held to mark National Legal Aid Day 2025 at the District Bar Bhaban.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Natore Zila Legal Aid Association Chairman and Senior District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Md Nasirul Haque presided over the discussion. Legal aid officer and Senior Assistant Judge Ismat Ara Tushi reported that the office realized Tk 46,72,000 through ADR during this period. Additionally, the office provided legal advice to 551 individuals and offered protection to those involved in 519 cases free of cost.
The discussion was addressed by several judicial and administrative officials, including Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Abdur Rahim, Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Al Amin, Additional District Magistrate Asma Khatun, Additional Police Super Md Ekramul Haque, Natore District Bar Association President Advocate Ruhul Amin Talukder Tagor, and General Secretary Advocate Shariful Haque Mukta.
The day's observance began with the release of balloons and pigeons at the court premises, followed by a colorful rally featuring participants from the legal aid office. The event also included tree planting and voluntary blood donation programs.
