Rome: Uruguay Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin called on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at his hotel in Rome today. During the meeting, they discussed various issues related to mutual interests.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Chief Adviser joined the funeral mass of Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City earlier today. Ahead of the funeral and after the service, the Chief Adviser exchanged greetings with several world leaders. Notable figures he interacted with included UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, EU President Ursula von der Leyen, and former US President Joe Biden.
Additionally, the Chief Adviser met with leaders such as the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, Kenyan President Montenegro, the leaders of Luxembourg, the President of Ecuador, the President of East Timor, and the Prime Minister of Honduras. Further exchanges were made with the President of Iceland, the President of Portugal, the King and Queen of Belgium, the Prime Minister of Belgium, Prince Albert of Monaco, and the Prince and Princess of Norway. The Prime Minister of Tunisia, the Prince and Princess of Liechtenstein, the Director General of WHO, and the President of IOC Tomas Bach were also present.
The Chief Adviser also had the opportunity to meet with foreign ministers from Sri Lanka, Bahrain, and Syria, as well as former US Secretary of State John Kerry.
