Munshiganj: Two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway of the district on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Farukh Uzzaman, 40, of Saltha area in Faridpur district, and Alimul, 27, a resident of Kaunia area of Rangpur district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, motorbike rider Farukh died on the spot when an unidentified vehicle hit his bike from behind in the Nimtola Railway Station area of Sirajdikhan upazila of the district.
Meanwhile, bike rider Alimul was killed in a road accident in the Hasara area of Srinagar upazila early in the morning. Police reported that the accident occurred when a truck ran over a motorcycle in the area around 3 am, leaving its rider, Alimul, critically injured. He was taken to Srinagar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hasara Highway Police Station, Abdul Quader Jilani, confirmed the incidents. Police handed over the bodies to their respective family members, he added.
