Khulna: Education Adviser Dr CR Abrar has requested the protesting students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) to withdraw their hunger strike. The adviser made the call during a phone conversation with protesting students of KUET today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Abrar expressed concern over the health of the students during the conversation, warning that they might fall ill in the hot weather. He urged them to consider their physical condition and withdraw the hunger strike. He further assured the students that the government is aware of their demands and that a high-level delegation will visit Khulna shortly to address the issue.
The KUET authorities have committed to discussing the situation with both teachers and students to find a resolution. The students have been on a hunger strike since Monday afternoon, demanding the resignation of the vice-chancellor.
