DMP Takes Action Against 1,549 Traffic Violators in Dhaka

Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has reported filing 1,549 cases in a single day for violations of traffic rules in the capital.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a media release from the DMP stated that these cases were filed and fines collected on Wednesday, April 9, as part of their ongoing efforts to curb traffic rule violations. The operation aimed to reinforce discipline on the roads of Dhaka and facilitate smoother movement for its residents.

The campaign also saw the dumping of 274 motor vehicles and the destruction of 117 vehicles due to poor driving practices, as reported by Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP. The statement emphasized that these enforcement drives are part of a continuing initiative to streamline the traffic system in the city.
